Most people in real estate know what they should be doing. They’ve been to the trainings, heard the coaches, seen the top producers. And maybe even been a top producer at some point. And lost focus like I did.

Now that I have that vantage point, and I know what to do about it, that’s where I train and lead from. And that’s the most fascinating part about the agent experience for me. I know what it’s like to be close to the top. And I know what it’s like to fail miserably. And I now know how to reverse engineer that.

Part one

It’s Not About Skill Anymore

Once you get to a certain point in your career, it’s no longer a matter of skill. It’s no longer a matter of negotiations or contracts. It’s what’s in between the ears.

What’s stopping you from being the best version of yourself? Quite often, it’s self limiting beliefs. It’s a story you tell yourself. It’s excuses that you make that become louder. You have to cut out all the noise.

Sometimes it’s about going back to basics. It’s about going back to your roots.

Part two

The AI Trap

I believe in today’s day and age with the advancement of AI and technology, it’s gonna be more important than ever to, yes, stay knowledgeable on the current technology and how AI can help you do admin and marketing tasks faster. But I think agents are getting caught up in that. Spending too much time doing busy work. Having Claude or ChatGPT design the perfect open house marketing material. But in the meantime, what’s gonna move the needle for you and your business?

It’s about consistency. It’s about prospecting. It’s about diet, exercise, all of it. Every single little thing matters.

You can grind your way through it like I did. And burn out. Or you focus on doing the basics consistently.

“It’s better to be consistently good than occasionally great.”

Part three

Your Environment Matters

So again, it’s not a matter of skill. You know what to do. Why aren’t you doing it?

Sometimes it’s your environment. The people in your circle absolutely matter. Are people pushing you, inspiring you to do more and be better? Or are you feeling overlooked? Is there favoritism happening?

There are so many different things that go into the psychology of what it takes to be a self employed entrepreneur. And most agents forget that. They think like employees. They don’t think big picture. Not only what is my business gonna do for me, but what is my brokerage offering me that’s going to help me long term?

It’s not about commission splits. It’s not about whether or not your clients think your logo has some sort of prestige. Strong agents are strong agents no matter what. You could put a strong agent at a brokerage nobody’s ever heard of and they’re going to excel. Because they’ve mastered the art of consistency and the compound effect of how that works.

Part four

This Call Is For You

To any real estate professional who is struggling, or maybe not necessarily struggling but not living up to your fullest potential. Maybe you made a move to a brokerage thinking it would fix your production, but your numbers have stayed the same year over year, or trended down.

This call is to you.

You know what to do. When you figure out why you’re not doing it, you’ll unlock everything.
